Track and Measure Student Growth and Achievement with Galileo K-12

The Galileo Student Growth and Achievement (SGA) report offers easy-to-use information to help track and improve student learning. Easily accessible from the Teacher Dashboard, the SGA report provides the option to select two tests for a given grade and subject. When the SGA report is run, Galileo places the tests on a common scale using Item Response Theory to accurately measure student growth by displaying a scatter plot with four quadrants. Hovering on a dot in the scatter plot reveals the differences between two test scores for a given student. This is how student growth and achievement is measured in Galileo - by the difference between two test scores.
Each quadrant calls for a different approach to instruction. Accordingly, the report enables a teacher to create up to four intervention groups to provide differentiated instruction for these students.

Next, the data will provide a growth categorization, which indicates whether Expected Growth is Exceeded, Maintained, or Not Maintained.
Depending on the user level, the SGA report is also available at the class-, school-, and district-levels. This means a district administrator can run an SGA report for their entire district. Likewise, a principal can run the report tor their entire school.
Lastly, data generated from the SGA report can be printed or exported as an excel file so that you can easily share the reports.
The Galileo SGA report is an invaluable tool for supporting differentiated instruction options, including grouping students based on accurate measures of growth—which simply is not available in reports that compare only raw scores. With easy-to-interpret data, teachers can develop tailored learning paths and deliver the right instruction at the right time to achieve academic success.
