Galileo® Pre-K Online: Assessment and Curriculum Fidelity Tool

Galileo Pre-K Online provides early childhood educators a complete curriculum, fully integrated into an assessment and reporting system that links curriculum, assessment, planning, individualization, and program outcomes. Galileo provides a data-driven, research-based, and standards-aligned approach to providing developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for infants, toddlers, and children ages 3 through 5.

An integrated assessment and curriculum system such as Galileo Pre-K is most effective in promoting children’s learning when implementation is consistent, managed and monitored. Fidelity of implementation occurs when programs use the Galileo Pre-K Online system in the way that ATI designed it to be used. To assist programs in evaluating the fidelity of implementation, ATI has created the Galileo Pre-K Online: Assessment and Curriculum Fidelity Tool. Through monitoring efforts and observational data collected with the Assessment and Curriculum Fidelity Tool, appropriate use of Galileo Pre-K can be verified. The Assessment and Curriculum Fidelity Tool is divided into four focus areas: monitoring Galileo use, the physical classroom environment, professional practices, and management and instruction.  Each focus area is made up of guiding questions to assist the administrator in monitoring implementation and includes a Specific Examples/Notes section for documenting evidence, data sources, and special comments or notes. The administrator utilizing the Assessment and Curriculum Fidelity Tool can identify areas where support, feedback, training and professional development can further continuous improvement.

New: Customizable and Efficient Staff Launchpad

The new customizable Staff Launchpad for teachers and administrators, ATI's latest enhancement to Galileo, went live in mid-May. Getting started with the user-friendly Launchpad is easy. Log into Galileo on any device and you will be taken directly to your own Launchpad where you will find colorful, quick-access navigational tiles. The default set of tiles is customized with commonly used Galileo interfaces based on your role as a teacher or administrator. You can personalize your Launchpad by adding tiles for other Galileo interfaces, creating your own tiles with links to external websites, or deleting tiles. Plus, you can also change the color, icon and order of the navigational tiles. We hope you will be pleased with the ways in which the Galileo Staff Launchpad saves you time and brings you limitless customizable options.

Staff Launchpad offers efficiency in navigating through Galileo.

An earlier release, the Student Launchpad, is accessible through the Galileo K-12 Student-Parent Center and provides users with four navigational tiles. The Student Launchpad tiles provide quick access to frequently used interfaces including Take Test, Assignments/Dialogs, Test Results, and the Calendar.

Student Launchpad features color tiles for access areas in Galileo quickly.

Galileo Dashboard Reports Facilitate Differentiated Instruction

Did you know that Galileo K-12 Dashboard reports provide educators with the right tools for facilitating data-driven, standards-based, differentiated instruction of three essential types?  Instruction can be differentiated based on:
  • skill mastery instruction guided through information from the Test Monitoring Report and Detailed Item Analysis Report;
  • standards mastery instruction guided through information from the Intervention Alert and Instruction Performance Tracker Report; and
  • pattern of progress mastery instruction guided through information from the Student Growth and Achievement Report.
Students have easy access through Galileo to a broad range of differentiated instructional learning opportunities aligned with their learning needs and pattern of progress. Galileo Instructional Dialogs offer access to a variety of resources including district/educator developed/determined materials and resources available on the web such as those from KHAN ACADEMY® and LearnZillion. Both local resources and those from the web can be delivered through customized Instructional Dialogs in Galileo.

Galileo Instructional Dialogs offer students interactive, multimodal opportunities to learn and apply skills. In addition, practice items with real-time feedback are embedded throughout the Dialogs along with a brief formative assessment at the end of instruction to help measure impact.

Galileo also provides direct links to web-based instructional resources such as those from KHAN ACADEMY® and LearnZillion. As with Dialogs, these materials may be viewed, selected and scheduled for a student, class or tiered intervention group.

These unique Galileo features facilitate rapid planning and scheduling of learning opportunities for all students. Contact our friendly and knowledgeable Field Services Coordinators to learn more or read more and view an illustration of planning differentiated instruction at the standards mastery level.
