New Galileo Tools from ATI: Post Student Responses Feature and Open Response Item Options

Post Student Responses: Users now have the option to post student responses along with student scores in the Galileo K-12 Student-Parent Center at a selected date and time. With a click of a button, this feature allows teachers to quickly share test results and item-responses online with their students and parents. 

The Post Student Responses feature is available in Schedule Test, Edit Test Schedule, Bulk Scheduler, and Edit Bulk Schedule. This option is also available when scheduling quizzes and the optional tests for Dialogs.






Open Response Item Options:  Student responses come in many forms like essays, drawings, graphs, and more. Now, educators have two student response interface options when creating Open Response items in Item Builder. Select the Text Editor option to provide a text editor in the online testing interface where the student can type their response. Or select None and let students create their response on paper or in another program. With these simple buttons, educators can quickly select their desired options and build the items they need.

Once students have responded, the Test Monitoring Report can be used to score the items including viewing student responses entered online and uploading responses created outside of Galileo if desired. New: Customizable and Efficient Staff Launchpad

The new customizable Staff Launchpad for teachers and administrators, ATI's latest enhancement to Galileo, went live in mid-May. Getting started with the user-friendly Launchpad is easy. Log into Galileo on any device and you will be taken directly to your own Launchpad where you will find colorful, quick-access navigational tiles. The default set of tiles is customized with commonly used Galileo interfaces based on your role as a teacher or administrator. You can personalize your Launchpad by adding tiles for other Galileo interfaces, creating your own tiles with links to external websites, or deleting tiles. Plus, you can also change the color, icon and order of the navigational tiles. We hope you will be pleased with the ways in which the Galileo Staff Launchpad saves you time and brings you limitless customizable options.

An earlier release, the Student Launchpad, is accessible through the Galileo K-12 Student-Parent Center and provides users with four navigational tiles. The Student Launchpad tiles provide quick access to frequently used interfaces including Take Test, Assignments/Dialogs, Test Results, and the Calendar.

The K-12 Student Parent Center provides a detailed assessment history on all completed benchmark, formative, and external assessments and also contains all available lessons and assignments so that they can be easily accessed by students and their parents.

Galileo’s Digital Curriculum Platform Integrates Assessment, Reporting, and Instruction

Recognizing the importance of integrating dynamic digital curriculum with research-based assessment, actionable reporting, and effective instruction, ATI has developed the next generation of Galileo K-12 Online technology, the Galileo Digital Curriculum Platform. Built on the foundation of ATI's nationally recognized Research and Development Program, the platform creates a seamless integration between standards-based instruction, comprehensive assessment, and actionable Dashboard reporting to promote learning.

As the first of its kind, the platform makes it possible to easily integrate existing curriculum content, develop new curriculum content, and modify curriculums as needed. Once curriculum content is entered into the platform, educators can quickly access the information to: 
1) develop and implement lessons; 
2) design empirically-based differentiated instruction; 
3) rapidly link curriculum to balanced interim benchmark and formative assessments; and 
4) monitor the impact of instruction on student progress and mastery of standards.

The New Galileo K-12 Student-Parent Center

The Galileo K-12 Student-Parent Center's updated platform provides users many new features. These include:

• user-friendly icons and graphical representations,
• responsive design to accommodate the use of the center on various screen sizes, such as laptops, tablets and desk tops,
• the integration of Google Translate enabling families whose primary language is not English to use the center efficiently, and
• a convenient option to choose when to implement the new interface. 

Districts and charter schools have the option to switch now to the new interface or to continue using the classic interface accompanied with a preview of the new interface. ATI encourages districts to explore the new Galileo K-12 Student-Parent Center and create a plan to implement and train staff and students on how to utilize the new platform. To assist in this, districts can setup a preview of the new platform and access the preview with a student username and password. 

Once the preview is activated all students will be able to access the new platform from the classic Galileo K-12 Student-Parent Center. During this preview phase, ATI encourages you to have teachers schedule formative assessments, and Dialogs. Teachers should instruct students to access the formative assessments and Dialogs from the new interface. This will provide students and teachers the opportunity to experience the new platform in a casual environment, rather than having the first experience during district-wide testing.
