Next Instructional Intervention Steps

What are the next steps that need to be taken in your district and at the district, school, and class level to implement interventions to elevate student achievement beyond current levels?

For those schools with students at "exceeding," focus is on continuing by placing yearly goals of achievement.

Suggestions:
-Tie a formative to assess the intervention to determine if the program is doing what is claimed.
-Design a template to collect data as part of a district initiative. Then use the data to determine "drop" or "keep."

Next steps:
-How to integrate needs of technology with tasks currently being implemented.
-Elementary and high schools are breaking down the new math standards.
-Going to state meetings to take a look.
-Out-of-time standards - need to be aware of gaps in instruction.

Our district's next steps include:
-Looking at scheduling to allow for re-teach/enrich time
-Have an assessment system that provides data on student groupings
-Additional time for teachers to look at available data
-Compile data from existing programs to establish baselines and figure out next steps

-Scheduled benchmark tests, school-wide - possibly upper grades take these online

-Full integration of available technology in the classroom, with the inclusion of interactive whiteboards and data input devices
-Professional Development – ongoing training is necessary in the following areas:
-Galileo formative assessments and lessons
-Accelerated reading/math
-New laptops
-Read naturally
